Why Do We Do COCs?
The COC Programme was introduced by The Professional Roof Repair And Waterproofing Association (PRAWA) in order to help professionalize the industry and weed out poor workmanship and dishonest contractors. The system ensures that contractors that are able to issue COC's have their NQF Level 2 in Roof Repair and Waterproofing, certifying that they are competent and capable of the repairs and waterproofing they are tasked to undertake.
The system ensures that contractors are held accountable for their work as well as to a high level of workmanship set out by the association's minimum standard guidelines for roofing and waterproofing.
We at Sicon Group strive for the highest level of workmanship and customer satisfaction and as a long-standing member of PRAWA we have chosen to implement the system to ensure excellence and the best service for our clients.
How Are COC's Controlled
Contractors who issue Certificates of Compliance (COC's) are audited randomly by the association; failure to pass an audit will result in the contractor being called back to rectify any issues with their services rendered within 5 working days. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action and potentially suspension of membership from the contractor's association.
Should your contractor's COC be selected for an audit, they will be contacted directly by PRAWA, following which they will need to schedule a visit to your premises where they completed the job, accompanied by the independent auditor.
The auditor will audit the work and issue a pass or failure notice. Should a failure occur, the contractor will have 5 working days to rectify the issues.
