Roofing projects run on materials arriving in the right quantity, in the right condition, at the right point in the programme. Sicon Group's procurement function sources and schedules everything a project consumes, from sheeting and fixings to coatings, sealants and safety equipment. Buying directly and holding stock at the Benoni headquarters means a job is not waiting on a supplier's delivery window, and it means the materials specified in the proposal are the materials that arrive on site.

Distribution carries that through to the site. With branches from the Vaal Triangle to the Garden Route, materials move to wherever the work is happening rather than every project drawing from a single point. Deliveries are sequenced against the programme, so a roof is not opened before the sheeting to close it has arrived, and stock is not standing on a live site for longer than it needs to be.

For a client the effect is straightforward: fewer delays, fewer substitutions, and a clear line back to what was quoted. Where a material is specified for a particular application, procurement confirms that is the one supplied, because a coating or a fastener changed at short notice is how a guarantee gets compromised. It is unglamorous work, and it is a large part of why a programme finishes when it was said it would.
