What Is Rope Access?
Rope access — sometimes called industrial abseiling — is a method of reaching and working at height using ropes, harnesses and specialised equipment. Technicians descend, ascend and traverse to reach the exact work area, always working on two independent ropes: a working line and a backup safety line.
Far from being risky, it's a mature, highly-regulated discipline with an excellent safety record when it's performed by properly trained and certified technicians. It's used worldwide on everything from wind turbines to skyscrapers precisely because it's controlled, efficient and safe.
